PASSIVE house developer Fraser Millar has been named as Developer of the Year at the annual PropertyPal awards, which were a celebration of the individuals and companies that drive the Northern Ireland property industry.
In a highly competitive category, the Developer of the Year award was presented during a black-tie event at Titanic Belfast to the ‘developer that exemplified industry leadership, innovation and consistently high-quality work’.
The family run company behind the only Passivhaus certified residential housing development in Northern Ireland, Lancaster Park in South Belfast, has decades of experience providing high quality homes.
Director David Millar was delighted to receive the award which he acknowledged was a ‘real team effort’.
He said: ‘Over these last few years the industry has had several challenges but as a company we have continued to focus on providing high quality sustainable homes.
“We continue to position ourselves at the forefront of the property industry in Northern Ireland with the adoption of Passivhaus Institute (PHI) certification as the default for all of our developments going forward.
He added: “Quality is in the DNA of our company and every development that we bring to the market, we now ensure that each house is independently accredited with Passivhaus Institute Low Energy Building (LEB) certification. The benefits of such a house are in the very fabric of the building from airtightness to thermal insulation, providing year round thermal comfort coupled with clean, filtered fresh air.”
“The data recorded for our latest sales are showing total energy bills of less than £75 per month for all heating, hot water and everyday electric use. Passive houses truly are low energy houses. The team at Fraser Millar is exceptionally proud of this very coveted award and it will take pride of place in our head office.”
On the back of Fraser Millar’s success at Lancaster Park, the company will be releasing another large scale Passive house LEB development ‘Beaufort Green’ in Carryduff.
Further details will be made available in the New Year.
